Sharon we have similar things here but if we bring our bags back, we only get 3 cents back...and we pay something like 3 cents or 5 cents to buy bags...but 10 cents? Wow-that is pretty expensive when you think about it. Right n ow all the rage is buying big reusable bags that are pretty sturdy and made of canvas. I use them sometimes but am pretty bad and find it easier just to get plastic bags at home! lol We use up our plastic bags for lots of things so they DO come in handy sort of.
Your buzzer system sounds really good but how on earth did you manage to find your $10 again after a WEEK?? Isn't that store busy at all? lol

They do that at Co-op here, Sharon.
I love shopping at my work. It may be more expensive, but it's better than the stuff you get at Co-op, Safeway, etc. Plus, I get 25% off, so that helps!

Where is that simple day? Before colours broke into shades. And how did I ever fade into this life?

10 cents for a bag is expensive, and I found out that not only grocery stores are charging for their plastic bags, Ikea for instance charges for their bags, as do a few other places. Given that, I not only bring my re-usable bags for grocery shopping, but for all my other shopping as well (clothes, drugstore, CD's, books you name it), I found some fabric (I think it's cotton), re-usable bags at Zellers. And they give rewards too, for every re-usable bag that you buy they give 1000 points (if you have the HBC card), and they give 100 points every time you re-use the bag there (which isn't bad considering Zellers now has a small "grocery" area). As for finding my 10 bucks after one week, that's because somone waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay above the clouds really loves me .

I was at Superstore the other day and I FINALLY found their new product that came out months ago but was always out of stock...it is in the frozen aisle and is called PAPILLOTE-it is a mix of baby potatoes, green and yellow beans, a few scallops (like..TWO) a few prawns (like 3) and a piece of cod (like...the size of my pinky) all in a parchment paper with a light sauce...it was actually really good...I even ate the cod-the sauce had almost an indian hint to it (sorry Michelle) but wasn't strong...and the portion was pretty good too but would be heartier with some rice.
I just love Superstore!
