Lord of the Rings Musical

Anyone hear about this? I read a review in the paper claiming that this play is TOTALLY awesome-with scenery practically out of the movie and excellent music. Too bad it runs 3.5 hours, but I think it would be great to watch, if it ever gets out here!

Smiley  I would love to see that musical.
What is 3.5 hours too long? ( I've never been to a live musical).
Anything that has to do with the Lord of the Rings
I'd go to as I love that trilogy.

3.5 hours is WAYYYYY long!  Is that the length of the show itself or does that include the time of the intermission?  Maybe there would be two intermissions for this show.  Even with a break of two, I really don't know if I could sit that long.  Depends where it's playing I guess - if the theatre has comfortable seats.

I haven't heard anything about this one.  I never saw Lord of the Rings, the movie, so I wonder if that would make it better or worse to see the musical.

Well, here is a link to read a review about the show...apparently it is a HIT!! How nice that Toronto gets it first!!

I think sitting for 3.5 hours isn't that bad at all..I did that for Titanic AND for each of the LOTR movies-it all depends on how entertained you are with the show..

Yeah, the show makes a difference.  I didn't notice how long Titanic was, but most 3 hour movies drive me crazy.

Were you sitting in a theatre for those shows, Lisa, or at home on your couch?  Cause one of those locations is WAY more comfortable than the other. Wink

I have to admit that I watched Titanic SEVEN times in the theatre..so trust me, I got really used to the seating-I think I was a bit obsessed with the show! haha

(unless of course it's in the article which i did not read...then i will feel like a dope! Wink)
