I linger in you, I can't let you go, If I can come to you, Be sure to let me know.
I've tried to stop crying, But I miss you so much, I wish I could hug you, Feel one last touch.
And I feel so lonely, They don't understand, You were what held me up, Kept the grip of my hand.
I'm still grieving for you, Only eight months ago you fell, I swear I'm moving on, On my past I don't dwell.
I just need you by my side, And can't believe you're gone, I can't explain how I feel, About something so wrong.
You were meant to live, But who is to say how long? You were brave though, You were so strong.
And I admire you, Your courage to fight, I know I'm angry, That you fell that night.
But I know it's not your fault, And you couldn't live anymore, I'm not mad at you, Just mad that you knocked on heavens door.
I wish you were here, But it just can't be, I may not show it, But I can feel you look down on me
And I need you to know, That I still give you love, Even though you have slipped, And now sit above.

When I read the poem, I thought you had your doggie in mind. It really hurts to lose a pet.
