The show begins, the top 13 reunite, it’s the end of another year of Idol and the crowning of this year’s Idol. Ryan said just under 100 million votes came in, a total of 641 million votes this season. Ryan introduces the judges, Randy, Kara, Paula and Simon. He then introduces the Idols Kris Allen and Adam Lambert.
They check out Kris’ hometown with Mikalah Gordon (season4) and Adam’s hometown with Carley Smithson (season 7). The top 13 dressed in white, sing “So What”. It was pretty good. David Cook sings “Permanent”. David’s song is going to be on I-tunes and proceeds will go to fight cancer in honour of his brother who just passed away from a brain tumour.
Then they a recap of have a few guys singing, who had the scariest voices ever. LOL! Nick Mitchell also known as Norman Gentle wins the award the golden “Idol” award. Lil Rounds and Queen Lativa sing, “Cue the rain”. The idols do another song with Jason Mraz, singing “I’m Yours”.
They show Kris Allen’s journey on Idol. Kris Allen and Keith Urban sing, “Kiss a Girl”. Their performance was awesome.
The idol girls sing “Glamorous”. Allison Iraheta introduces Fergie singing “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and then she and the Black Eyed Peas perform “Boom, Boom, Boom”.
There were more of the golden “idol” awards, for best attitude. The winner is, Katrina Darrell (bikini girl). Kara DioGuardi comes out and sings with her and at the end of the song rips her dress open to show a bikini. Ryan said they dared her to do that and that they would be sending money to her favourite charity.
Allison Iraheta and Cindi Lauper sing “Time After Time”. That was cool. Ryan talks to Kris’ parents, then Adam’s camp. Then Danny Gokey sings. He was awesome as usual. Danny introduces Lionel Ritchie. They sing together.
Ryan announces that the idol will have a 50 state tour. Then they show Adam’s journey on Idol. Adam sings. He was fantastic and the Adam introduces Kiss! He performs with Kiss. Unbelievably awesome, HOT!!!! The best of the night!
Ryan then introduces Carlos Santanna. Matt Giraud sings “Black Magic Woman”, the Kris and Danny and the other idols come out to accompany him.
Ryan introduces the final Ford Music video. David Cook surprises Adam and Kris with new cars.
Steve Martin joins Michael Sarver and Megan Corkery on stage, singing “Pretty Flowers”. I could have done without listening to this performance. Ryan asks Steve Martin whom he thinks will win Idol and he said he hoped that he would. Ha! Ha!
The idol guys perform. Adam Lambert introduces Rod Stewart. He sings” Maggie”. It was awesome.
The last golden “idol” for the ladies is announced. The winner is Tatiana Nicole Del Toro. She does her thing again and then there is a commercial break.
Kris and Adam do “We Are The Champions” together. The curtains open and Brian May and Queen emerge. That was totally Awesome!
Now the results: Simon tells them they are great guys. Ryan gets the results. The next American Idol is: Kris Allen. Kris is in shock. Kris gets a new American Idol winner’s trophy. Adam congratulates Kris and Ryan introduces him and he sings “No Boundaries”.

Well I would have loved a different ending but that being said, I must say this year and the idol finale was the best I have ever seen. I wish both contestants the best and I am sure they both will go far.
