Well we just got back from Lloydminster a few minutes ago. We went to see Earl Stevenson and the show was awesome. We got to the stands about 5ish and waited for Earl to show up, he started at 7pm after doing a bit at the local Radio station. A local band, the 7th eye, opened for him and they were really good. It was a good thing too cause it helped warm us up. It was only +12 and windy so that was a bit chilly from the heat wave we had been having.

There was a young girl maybe 13 or 14 or maybe younger, who had a sign that said, “The Wedding is Tonight”. She was dressed in a white dress, that was supposed to be a wedding dress and she said she was marrying Earl. I think Earl got a kick out of that. He posed for a picture with her. I imagine that made her day.

The Mayor presented Earl with a watch so he knew what time it was, a duffel bag for when he had to tour and an alarm clock so he could wake up in the morning. Earl said that was great because he had been so busy that he didn’t even know what month it was lately.

Anyway Earl finally arrived and thanked us all for coming and for voting. He sang “Like a Rolling Stone”, “All Along The Watch Tower” and some of his own songs like “Sparrow in the Sky”. I must say that he was awesome. The show lasted about an hour or so. Earl said he would be doing one more song. He said he had to be back by tomorrow to meet Ann Murray.
There was one little guy about 1 or 2 years old in front of us that was just rockin’ out and dancing to Earl’s tunes, he was so cute.
They were selling Earl pins and Tee Shirts with any money collected going to Big Brothers and Big Sisters and towards a Skate Park for kids to roller blade at.
Jim bought me a Earl Tee shirt an some buttons, one said “Earl Rocks!” and one says “I Like Grandmas! Earl”
They had a autograph session after all was said and done, but we didn’t stay for it. There was definitely a lot who did. I really enjoyed the show!
