Russ and I were able to go and watch Cirque on Sunday in the afternoon and WOW...it was SO good~! I have to admit that when I have seen some of the shows on TV, they have been good but nothing overly exciting....but to see it live is a million times better. Russ got us VIP tickets which meant that we could have special parking close to the venue AND that we could wear posh VIP tags on our necks...lol....we then got to hang around in a lounge area called TAPIS ROUGE which was a red room that was very dark with red couches and small bars and sitting areas. There was also a rotating food table that had some small sandwhiches, pasta salads and a couple of snacks. It was really neat being in there and the show...WOW...we were very close to the stage and it was set in the round which means any seat is a good seat.
The show itself had a great theme-about a clown's life and death-the music was more spanish style and was so nice...so this time, I felt this theme had a storyline that was easy to follow...it was about a circus for once instead of bizarre stories.
At the intermission we got to go back to the lounge and have some desserts (I tried bread pudding for the first time..yum!!) and then hang out and get our picture taken with a dummy...literally-lol
The rest of the show was awesome-SO much to look and the acrobats were just amazing.
I definitely recommend this show-I would actually go and watch it one more time because it was that good...or get the video of CORTEO-I do think it is the best theatrical version of Cirque so far.

Cirque du soleil really is fantastic, no matter what the show is it's always unforgettable. Great review on Corteo Lisa, when it first opened here I didn't have the chance to see it, but I hope to. While were on the topic there is a new Cirque du soleil movie that came out yesterday and I might go and see it, it's called Delirium, here is the link: http://www.cineplex.com/Movies/MovieDetails/78A09E56/Cirque_Du_Soleil_Delirium.aspx?tab=2Alegria was a very successful too, it was a show, and it became the first movie of Cirque du Soleil...so now Delirium is the new release. One thing I admire about Cirque du Soleil is that they've helped many unfortunate people to help make their dreams come true. From Mongolia, a poor country, there are people who are physically flexible, and their natural talent landed them jobs as contortionists in Cirque du Soleil. Cirque du Soleil is also very involved with Oxfam.

How did you get a VIP package?
I have never seen one of these shows but it sounds interesting and fun to watch.

I guess they sell those kinds of packages along with the regular seats too...The VIP thing was nice but not always necessary each time you go..just cause it is too expensive and really, any seat in the house is an amazing one so you do have a good shot.
This particular show was awesome though...most Cirque themes are good but I would not watch them again, this one was the best!
