Brian Melo's Cd
« on: December 26, 2007, 09:00:44 PM »

My mom got the cd a week ago or so and I scoffed at her for doing it because most of the cd's that come out are pretty crappy from the CI people. I was able to listen to some of it and was actually really impressed with it-he had some great rock tunes, pop rock and a few ballads, so at least he didn't get too bubble gum with it all. I am bringing it to work to listen to all over again to make sure I really like it!

The verdict is....I LIKE it...I have it on repeat here at work and think it is a great blend of soft and mellow (pardon the pun) songs and some edgy rock songs...definitely one of the better cd's to be out there from any Idol although Billy's FIRST cd was the best!

Billy's FIRST cd was the best!

I'm sure you're going to find everyone agreeing with you on that one, Lisa. Wink

I have Brian's CD too. I haven't had the opportunity to listen to it a great deal though. It's pretty great, I'd say.

I actually think Billy's cd is worse the 2nd time around-a real disappointment-not his fault at all but I would much rather listen to the 1st cd. I think Brian lucked out with Cd one because he got to co write many of his songs and his voice sounds really nice on it. I have heard it MANY times already and still enjoy it!

Of course, the one thing that is different with Billy's first CD and the other Idol ones is that the Idol people had NOTHING to do with Billy's.  Not that I don't trust you guys, but I am still leary about spending money on an actual Idol CD.

I only buy Idol CD's of idols who can sing. I have both Ryan and Kalan's CD's, Melissa can't sing, Eva can sing but not enough for me to buy her CD, and I'm happy I got Brian's CD as a Christmas gift because he can sing.

I guess it all depends....I don't think Billy had that much say on his first album but surprisingly it worked for him because his voice was true but more toned down and easy to listen to...I admit that I liked the KIL stuff but his voice was always way too harsh on it and overly growly-he was much better live. I thought the first cd had a great hook with all the songs and nice ballads-but I guess it all depends-people loved Daughtry's cd but I wasn't all that crazy about it. Don't get me wrong-Billy can sing ANYTHING but I guess it just depends on the actual material he has to sing.

It was like Ryan's-it was a good first cd but the other stuff he did wasn't to my liking..and I REALLY didn't like Kalan's cds either-so basically I am surprised at how much I liked Melo's cd!!!

Haha I haven't posted here in a long time -- sorry guys, I didn't mean to ditch out on the tawking!

Lisa, have you heard Kalan's second CD?   It's WAY WAY better than the first one - there are some really nice songs on there.  Even though I used to dig the first CD, I have to agree with you - it's really not that good.

Momo-we missed you Smiley I haven't heard Kalan's cd yet...I thought his single was just ok but still a bit bubble gum industry type music...he is still SUPER talented so I am sure his 2nd cd is better.

I put Melo's cd on again at work when I was there all day and just loved it...it makes for GREAT background music because it just works so well-surprisingly I love listening to it!!
