Here's a partial roster for the Canadian team at the World Championships, featuring Lynn's favourite player Albert Roloson. Wink

There should be more players added soon, as I hear the Flames' Matthew Lombardi is on his way over.

And Lynn should even be able to watch the games - while she's doing laundry of course - because I hear they begin at something like 6 a.m. our time! Cheesy

And, what a FINE name it is!  Cheesy
So glad that he goes by his middle name, though!

Hopefully, I'll be able to catch a few games.
I would absolutely LOVE to see him play. Who is the other goaltender? I heard but now forget. Roll Eyes

The other goalie is Cam Ward, from the Carolina Hurricanes.  It's too bad the Rollie was hurt last year in the finals or otherwise that would be an interesting storyline - the two goalies who went head to head in the finals are now teammates.

Duh?! Oh yes...I remember now. How quickly I forget things! Roll Eyes

I was reading in the newspaper that Roli is bringing his goalie school to Simcoe this year. Maybe I should hang around the arena on those dates and plan a kidnapping?! Grin

I was in the drugstore and for the first time, I noticed a framed autographed pic of Roli on the wall behind the counter. I don't know if I could ever work there now. There would always be a BIG distraction behind me!  Cheesy

Well, you could work there for a day until they fired you for stealing the big picture of Roli. Wink

I watched the entire game this morning with Canada playing Germany. It started a little after 8:00 a.m.I was doing laundry during the game. What could be finer---hockey and laundry! Cheesy
The German's proved they are a stronger team this year. Canada did manage to pull out a win defeating Germany 3-2. It should have been 3-1 because Albert (lol!) let a bad goal in from the blue line. He played very well and made a few tremendous saves. Team Canada needs to focus on not getting so many penalties. That sure doesn't help the game. I have a bad memory..was it Shane Doan that got the 5 minute penalty and was booted out of the game during the first few minutes of the first period? Holy..that was one nasty hit! Tongue

The next game is Monday at 12:00 p.m I should be able to watch that one too!  Grin
I wonder if they'll have Cam Ward or Roli in goal? Undecided Oh well..I'll still watch.

Shea Weber got the 5 and a game.

I guess they go with Cam Ward next game, just to give both goalies a chance to get a feel for the situation.  Then they will probably ride the hot one as long as they can.

Also, Chris Mason is apparently the third goalie.

Thanks for the info, Michelle! Smiley

And where in the heck did I get the name Shane Doan from?  Undecided Roll Eyes

LOL, I don't know.  Shane Doan IS on the team, but he's the captain and a forward and has been around forever while Shea Weber is a young defenseman.

Is guess both their names start with S? Cheesy

Of course, the names can get a bit confusing with this tournament, now that Mr. Roloson has suddenly become Albert! Cheesy

Great! Smiley What team is he playing for? Canada?

I'm glad that Canada beat Norway today. Although I had the game on t.v., I didn't watch much of it. I was busy vacuuming and doing other things.

I was out with my parents this morning (for coffee) and I was talking about Roloson.... my favorite topic! Grin Anyways...my dad was saying on Sunday at church, they were announcing that at the church hockey game at the arena - Roloson was there and they asked him to play goal for the First Baptist Church team and he DID and they WON! I guess that he was in town a few weeks ago. Man...if I knew that, I would have been at the arena watching the game!

No, Norway.  LOL.  Of course, Canada, I don't care about the rest!

As for Roli playing for that church team and winning - well, I would hope so!  If he played and lost and word got out, I think he could kiss his NHL career good-bye.  LOL.

I guess that Canada played again and won.

I wish I knew the time schedule for the games and then I'd watch and wouldn't be missing them. Sad

The games are on TSN, so check your local listings for when the games are on.  Or go to TSN's website.  I haven't been paying attention to when the weekday ones are on, because I'm at work.

The most recent victory was 5-4 over Slovakia.  According to my sources, Roli was awful, but these are Calgary fans who would hate him if he got a shutout. Cheesy  Of course, if Lynn was reporting, he would have singlehandedly won the game.  I would guess the truth is somewhere in between.  LOL.
